Set up an eSIM manually on iPhone with SM‑DP+ details

Use this method when Quick Install or the QR code method is not available. You will need the SM‑DP+ Address and Activation Code supplied for your specific eSIM.

1. Add the eSIM

  1. Connect your iPhone to Wi‑Fi.
  2. Open Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM.
  3. From the QR code setup flow, choose the option to Enter Details Manually.
  4. Enter the SM‑DP+ Address exactly as supplied.
  5. Enter the Activation Code exactly as supplied.
  6. Enter a Confirmation Code only if one was provided.
  7. Confirm the details and wait for installation to finish.

2. Set up the line

  1. If useful, label the new line Aurora Net.
  2. Keep your usual line for calls, iMessage and FaceTime.
  3. Select Aurora Net for Cellular Data.
  4. Turn on roaming for Aurora Net only when your eSIM instructions require it.

APN

If an APN is required, use the exact APN shown in your purchase email, My eSIM page or connection details for that profile. Do not replace it with a generic value.

3. Test the connection

Turn off Wi‑Fi, allow a few minutes for network registration and open a new page in Safari. If it still does not connect, use the APN and roaming troubleshooting page.

Open connection troubleshooting

Keep your SM‑DP+ Address, Activation Code and QR code private. Do not delete the installed eSIM unless support instructs you to do so.
